Popcore creates beautiful, oddly satisfying hyper-casual games. Based at our Berlin HQ, our integrated creative and engineering teams have developed and released chart-topping games that have been downloaded 100 million times across iOS and Android.

Your role

At Popcore, our developers are the game, creating new games from scratch. You completely develop and release them - not just creating features - but full games. You align with game-design around the vision and then it's up to you to execute. 

It means we demand more from our developers, we see them as creative developers. Engineers with not just strong architecture skills or just the ability to implement features with precise instructions, it's also about taste, an eye and flair for visuals, good animations and general game feel. 

We work on relatively small codebase projects, this means we can afford to constantly work with the latest technologies and never deal with old legacy systems.

We work with an ECS-framework,  enabling us to build games that scale extremely well but also at a pace where the development life cycle can be measured in days. At Popcore you will have multiple games published within months of joining.

Your future team

We do everything in-house, from game-design, development, ads,  automation of processes, to the scaling of our products, literally everything. Our development cycles are extremely short yet impactful bursts, focusing on producing a Minimum Viable Product for testing within a few days.

Designers, artists, developers and data-analysts all work in partnership, testing and using metrics to iterate, with the final goal of extracting general patterns that apply to every game.

Our lean process means our teams are being enabled and continually rewarded by seeing their work constantly being released to market and reaching millions of users within days.

We expect high ownership and critical thinking of everyone - no matter if you are a developer, artist, data scientist or marketeer. If there is a more efficient or faster way of achieving a goal our teams are empowered to make those decisions, using data to inform and validate.

Your profile
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and high level of self-motivation
  • Experience with priority setting, must-have vs nice-to-have
  • Experience with designing small graphics yourself (Photoshop/Unity)
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Unity
  • Mobile Gaming background
  • Analytical background and process-oriented with attention to detail
  • Generalist
  • Experience with ECS
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
